Credit Transfer

Photo of North Terrace, Adelaide

Credit transfer agreements can make it easier for you to complete a new course and provide you with a pathway to university, because they allow credit to be granted for previous relevant studies.  This can shorten the time it takes you to complete the new course, or it can lighten the load in any one year.

TAFE SA works with the South Australian universities to establish formal agreements known as ‘credit transfer’ agreements, which give students advanced standing for comparable successful studies. TAFE SA is currently updating credit transfer agreements with the Senior Secondary Assessment Board of SA (SSABSA) for SACE subjects.

In order to claim credit, you must provide evidence of your previous studies, such as a Qualification Parchment or a Statement of Attainment, issued by the appropriate institution.

However, being eligible for credit does not guarantee that you will be offered a place in the course. Credit will normally only be granted after you have been offered a place in a course.

Current and archived credit transfer arrangements can be viewed below. Although every effort has been made to ensure the information was correct at the time of publication, you should confirm the details with the relevant institution. If your course is not listed, you may still be eligible for credit. Contact the relevant institutions for further advice.
